Going to the Beach!

 - by Kecia

If you remember at the end of June when I blogged about not going on vacation this year, it seems I was wrong. James and I decided (at the last minute) to go to Panama City Beach with my family again this year. They are heading out July 18th, which means in less than 2 weeks we will be relaxing by the ocean. We plan to stay until Wednesday, because my parents have other family coming down at the end of the week which will make the condo too crowded. I’m glad we decided to go somewhere, as it’s a much needed break from sitting at home typing my fingers to the bone. However, it also means that for the next two weeks, I’m going to try to knock out as many assignments as possible!

My Fourth of July weekend ended on a good note. Yesterday consisted of the fish fry. There wasn’t as much family as I thought there would be there, and the water was almost unbearably cold. It doesn’t matter to my family though, as my brother, sister, James, a distant cousin, and I still got in the pool for about 30 minutes. Well, they were in longer, but I got out when I couldn’t stop shivering. The food was better than the last fish fry, because this time they served up something other than fish. The rotisserie (sp?) chicken was delicious, and there were more than enough veggies and desserts to fill up our bellies. The worst part of the day was the downpour that begin just as we all finished eating. This resulted in about 18 people being crammed into a small pool house until it died down…not fun!
