Keeping all these Blogging Opportunities Organized…

For me, the best thing about blogging is the opportunities that the business creates. Yes, I say business because that’s exactly what it is. I am no longer doing this as a hobby – I haven’t been since late 2011. It’s a way for me to be a WAHM, being able to stay home with my son while still earning a supplemental income for our family.

Anyway, back to the opportunities! With blogging, I have been able to connect with a number of my favorite brands. I have been able to review and give away products I may have never known about otherwise. I’ve been able to attend a blogging conference and a couple of local events.

I’ve also had the privilege of networking with other bloggers, which I think is the most important thing in all of this. Other bloggers are the only people that completely understand your excitement as well as frustrations. Non-bloggers just cannot support you the way bloggers do. I love being able to connect with these people over the ‘net.

With all of these opportunities, however, it can become confusing and overwhelming if you aren’t organized. I’ve been using The Blogging Planner for almost one full month, and having it in my life has made things so much easier! The weekly pages are by far the greatest feature!

I have been using them to map out each day with exactly what I need to blog about. If I write and schedule the posts ahead of time, I can still quickly reference my planner to see what posts need promoting. I’ve also been taking advantage of the menu line for each day – it makes it so easy when you entire day can be planned out in the same place.

The monthly pages have been helpful as well. I haven’t filled them in quite as much as the weekly section. I use them more for the most important deadlines, events, and personal appointments. It is nice to be able to see the entire month at one glance.

Though I am sure you have noticed, my planner is color coded. This is to make it even easier to find (or remember) what I need. Each color represents an area of my life that I organize by The Blogging Planner. For example, pink is for posts or other events/projects I need to do for Southern Girl Ramblings.

If you are a blogger and would like to get more organized, I highly recommend The Blogging Planner. It’s the best one I’ve seen designed specifically for us. The generic planners may work, but with the blogging tips, personalized pages, and more in this one, you can’t help but feel more organized and less overwhelmed…

what a great idea! I have often wondered what the daily life of a professional blogger would be like..

  2. Nikki says:

I would love something like this. I use an online spreadsheet and editorial calender, but sometimes I think writing it down would make my ideas stick more in my head. Plus, I think of things when I’m out and about, then forget them when I get home. I could take this with me everywhere, and keep it next to my bed at night for those posts I write in my dreams!

I’m doing a much better job at staying organized this year, but a planner like this that is specific for blogging would definitely help out.

Looks like a good system, and so organized. I should colour code mine

Ahh! I bet this would help me integrate my blog with my daily life – I do well organizing in my Google Calendar, but it would be nice to see everything in one place.

  8. Brandy Myers says:

I need a planner that I can stick with so bad. I print them out and start off to a good start but then lose the motivation. This one looks great perhaps it could be the one I stick with.

  9. Jenny K says:

That looks great! I used to keep things on paper but I hated rewriting the same things week after week so I switched to using Google Calendar. It’s still a little messy, but it works. I’d love to switch back to paper though. I like it so much better.

Getting organized is my main goal for this year! I’m working on it one step at a time! I use my monthly planner the most, it helps me see at a glance what I still need to get done for that day, the rest of the week and the rest of the month. I write in everything that has a due date. I highlight them off when the task is completed. I just need to get better at making daily to do lists for the little tasks that don’t have specific due dates so I don’t get behind!

Your highlighting reminds me of my husband! He loves a good highlighter, and he loves planning on paper instead of the computer. This is right up his alley!
