I recently had the opportunity to visit a local Brookstone store in order to learn more about their latest gadgets, which are perfect for the back to school season. To be honest, I had only been in a Brookstone once or twice before this event, but I quickly realized how many cool products they offer! I could make my holiday wish list in that store alone! Now, onto the good stuff…
Brookstone Back to School Tech Gadgets
The first products I learned about were the variety of Big Blue Wireless Speakers that Brookstone offers. There are different sizes and prices to choose from, depending on your needs. Brookstone actually uses these speakers in their own stores, with an iPod Touch stashed away in the closet that controls the music.
For example, the Studio Wireless Speaker, which currently sells for $149.99, is ideal for those looking to entertain. The speaker can be used via bluetooth, playing the audio from your smartphone, computer, or tablet.
The Big Blue Live Wireless Speaker is a bit smaller than the Studio and can easily be taken anywhere. Along with playing your audio over bluetooth, the Live has a built-in microphone that makes taking speakerphone calls a breeze! This speaker currently retails for $99.99.
The ePad Laptop Desk is another great back to school gadget that I learned about at Brookstone. It’s great for college students, or anyone with a laptop computer. The padding beneath the desks offers a great deal of comfort while you work on essays, blog, or simply surf the web. There are two versions of this laptop desk: one with speakers, which is $49.99 in stores and one without speakers, which is $39.99.
Definitely the most awesome gadget that I was shown at Brookstone was the Virtual Keyboard. This product isn’t out yet, but is expected to be in stores sometime by the end of August. It’s a small device that connect with any Bluetooth device – phone, tablet, iPad, or e-Reader – and offers a projected keyboard onto the table. It was really neat getting to see this in action!
There was also a Pocket Projector on display that works with iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and the latest generation iPod Touch. This gadget works by projecting movies, slideshows, photos, Netflix programs, and more onto the wall. There is a built-in speaker and the device typically lasts 4 hours on a single charge. I would love to own one of these for a number of reasons!
The Pocket Projector sells in stores for $229.99. There is also an HDMI projector coming soon to Brookstone stores that will work with many other devices.
