Burst Photo Sharing iPhone App Review

I recently had the chance to check out a photo sharing service and phone app known as Burst. This service allows you to share photos and videos with your family and friends. The best part is, it is done in a private setting. You can let only those that you want to share these mementos with see them, rather than everyone on the world wide web getting a look at them.

Setting up an account for Burst was very simple. I only had to fill in a few fields…which is much nicer than the long drawn-out forms that other websites require. Once the account was created on the site, I downloaded the Burst app on my phone. There is an app for iPhones and most Android phones.

The app is very easy to use, and I was taking photos that I could share on Burst within minutes. Once a photo is taken, it is uploaded to a “cloud” which allows it to be viewed on any phone, computer, or tablet – basically anything that can access the internet. You can take photos right there inside the app or import photos that are already on your phone.  This is great for me because I already have 200+ photos before downloading the Burst app!

The photos you take will appear in your “My Moments” section on both the website and the app. Any photos or videos shared with you will be found in the “Moments Shared With Me” section.

Burst It App Review

You can create multiple groups, so that you can quickly and easily share your moments with the right people. This heightens your privacy even further. For example, you may want to share certain photos with your child’s soccer team, but you may not want all of those parents to see the photos of your newborn taking a bath. If you create two groups (“family” and “Ryan’s Soccer team”, for instance) then you can decide which group sees what. It’s really nifty!

Burst and its apps are currently free, and if you like to share your photos over the internet but want some privacy when doing so, I highly recommend you give this service a try.

Disclosure: I received a lifetime storage plan from Burst as part of a promotion program with MomSelect. All opinions are 100% mine.
