I received complementary Day Out With Thomas tickets. All opinions are 100% mine.
If I haven’t made it clear, Sawyer is a HUGE Thomas and Friends fan. He was introduced to the show just before Christmas, and has since fallen in love with the trains. So, it’s no wonder he had a great time at the Day Out with Thomas event over the weekend!
There were several different areas to visit during the event, each with lots of fun and entertaining activities. The first one we ventured to was Imagination Station, which features lots of trains, Mega Bloks, and coloring pages. There was also a place to get temporary Thomas and Friends tattoos! Sawyer would have spent all day in this tent if we had let him.
We also go to meet Sir Topham Hatt! When I told Sawyer we’d be meeting him on the way to the Railroad Museum, he was so excited. I mean, it’s not every day that you get to meet the controller of the railways! He couldn’t wait – though he was a little less than happy to get his photo made with him. So, Daddy got to be in on the picture as well.
The highlight of the day was getting to take a ride on Thomas. We were in Car 2, which Sawyer insisted was Clarabell! This was his first train ride and he enjoyed looking out at the scenery through the large window. He also loved the seat’s arm rest. He didn’t want to take his arm off of it during the ride.
The gift shop was amazing too – they had so much Thomas memorabilia that I’ve never seen in stores. Sawyer left with a backpack and new t-shirt, among a few other gifts that Nana bought him.
If you have a Thomas or train lover in your family, I highly recommend Day Out with Thomas. We were there for several hours and there was plenty to do to keep the kiddo’s attention, including a moon jump, mini golf, story telling, and more. Sawyer never got bored or grumpy – he wasn’t too fond of the loud whistles now and then but other than that, we had a great time. Even the rain didn’t dampen our fun!
