Dear Sawyer,
Every day, you still never cease to amaze us with the new things you have learned. You are picking up so many new words and we have no clue where you even hear something of them. You are loving Barney, Super WHY, Sesame Street, and Curious George, which is where you are picking up some of your vocabulary.
You know your first and last name now, and you say both when someone asks you your name. You can also sing “Happy Birthday to You” after hearing it sung to a girl at church. Though, you like to sing it all day, every day, even when there are no birthdays!
You also sing parts of the Hot Dog song when you are playing with your stuffed Mickey.
We went to watch the fireworks for July 4th, but you didn’t like the loud boom some of them made. We decided to make you some ear plugs from Kleenex, and then you enjoyed watching the “pretty colors”.
This week, you were sick so we had to take you to the doctor. You were running a fever and had a rash, which also brought on some congestion and coughing. The doctor said you just had a viral infection and you have two medicines to take. The infection hasn’t slowed you down either, except for the evening that you had the fever. If you were not coughing, no one would realize you were sick.
We were also weighed at the doctor, and you are 30.8 pounds. You have only gained 1.2 pounds since your 18 month appointment, but he said you were still in the 90th percentile for weight! You go back on your 2nd birthday so it will be interesting to see both your weight and height then.
You are leaving for Florida next weekend with Nana and Grandpa, and I am not sure how I feel about that. Since Daddy and I aren’t going, I am excited that they want to take you so you can enjoy the beach. However, I want to be there with you! Last year, you didn’t care too much for the sand or ocean, but you love swimming in a pool. It will be fun to see (well, hear about) how you react this year.
Not much longer and we will be celebrating your 2nd birthday!
Love,
Mommy

How quickly they learn things (and repeat and repeat them). Enjoy your time alone with your hubby.
