Dear Sawyer,

I just realized that I didn’t write your letter two days ago when you actually turned 23 months old! Instead, I spent the day wondering off and on how, in just one month, your daddy and I will have a 2 year old kid! Where has the time gone?!

It’s almost time for your second dentist appointment…you go Monday. This time, you have double the teeth you had at your February appointment. Your top left canine just came through this week! It won’t be long until you have a full set of them in your mouth.

Speaking of mouth, you are talking up a storm. It’s crazy how each month you gain so many new words. Every time I sit down to write this letter I think of your rapidly expanding vocabulary. You are getting a little bossy with your “Wait one second” and “Right Now!” You also told Daddy, while in the bathtub to “Back up…calm down” when he asked for your washcloth! It’s cute now, but we know it won’t be in a few years if you keep it up! ;)

We’ve been working on the “Itsy Bitsy Spider” and you know about half of the alphabet song. You sometimes sing them out of order or start and stop in the middle of the song, but you are getting there! “Happy Birthday” is still your favorite. You also like to rock out with your Elmo that sings and dances.

You love to help out around the house and you have been mimicking what we do more and more. You help with the laundry, sorting the clothes with me or pulling them out of the dryer and tossing them in the basket. Putting up your toys is another story – you help about 50% of the time with that.

You had a great time at the beach last month, and cried when you had to come home! We were glad you had fun, but the week got a little boring without you here! Last month, we also took you to see the live “Super WHY” tour, and you sat through it very well. Now that you are getting older, you are getting more into things like that. We plan to take you to another live show next month for your birthday!

Love,

Mommy
