Dear Sawyer,
You have officially become a Daddy’s Boy. Everyone says it’s because you spend too much time with me during the day that you are so happy to see a new face when Daddy gets home. It’s so cute to see the two of you playing together, and I know it lights up his entire day to see your smiling face and your arms reached out for him when he gets home.
We’ve both been working on getting you to crawl, but you still are not interested. You’d rather walk holding our hands or holding onto Yoshi. You will sit on your hands and knees and rock for a few seconds, but you still flatten out onto your tummy. You’ve started a bit of an army crawl/scoot the past few days, so hopefully the real thing is coming soon!
Also, we can almost see your front two bottom teeth. Your front gums have gotten hard, and there are two little specks of white on top in the center. We figure you’ll have teeth by your doctor’s appointment on June 29th. They don’t seem to be bothering you though, as you haven’t had a fever or been acting cranky.
You are still using “mama” and “dada” and you’ve added what sounds like “hey” and “bye”. However, sometimes we will tell you hey or bye and you will reply with “dada.” You will now wave without us having to hold your arm up while you move your hand up and down.
You seem to like swimming more and more each time we go. Last time, Nana held you to her side and let you lay on your belly just above the water. You splashed your hands and kicked your feet as though you were swimming. Water in your eyes and face doesn’t bother you a bit. You seem surprised for less than a second when you splash your face, but then go back to splashing before we could even react.
In just three months, Mommy and Daddy will have a one year old son. It definitely doesn’t seem like it’s already been 9 months since we brought you home.
Love,
Mommy
