Getting Sawyer to eat healthy has been a bit of a roller coaster. Some days, it’s easy to get him to eat broccoli, apples, grapes, and other healthy fruits and veggies. Other days, he refuses to even taste any of them. We are still working on instilling the habit of healthy eating though, by continuing to offer him these nutritious options.
Although eating fruits and vegetables regularly is a great habit, there are also many health benefits. Eating fruits and vegetables regularly can help reduce the risk of many health issues, like hypertension, heart disease, and stroke. It can also help eliminate childhood obesity. In addition to offer the kiddo lots of fruits and veggies, we try to live by example to get him more interested.
That’s the advice giving in “Getting Your Child to Pick Fruits & Vegetables”, an article on the Earth’s Best website:
“Be a good model by eating your fruits and vegetables. Parents who eat more fruits and vegetables often have kids who a) are less picky and b) consume more fruits and vegetables. Research shows that parents who eat more fruits and veggies are less likely to pressure their kids to eat them, which is key.”
Earth’s Best offers an organic applesauce for parents that may be struggling to get their kids to each real fruit. Sawyer loves this stuff – and has it either with his Cheerios in the morning or for a snack later in the day. He loves being able to scoop it from the cup himself!
The applesauce is made from 100% organic apples. It is sold in cups that are the perfect size for little ones to snack from at home or on the go. With no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives, Earth’s Best Organic Apple Sauce is available in original and cinnamon.
