Gnomeo is one of the funnier family friendly movies I have seen in a while. It’s been out on DVD since February 2011, but I was able to add it to our collection this month, thanks to Mommy Bear Media.
Synopsis
Caught up in a feud between neighbors, Gnomeo and Juliet must overcome as many obstacles as their namesakes. But with flamboyant pink flamingos and epic lawnmower races, can this young couple find lasting happiness?
My Review
I enjoyed watching Gnomeo and Juliet with my husband. It was a cute and funny movie, and I like how it adapted the classic Shakespeare work into the story. I have to say though, I like the ended of this movie better than the original Romeo and Juliet! It’s also humorous to see how the story was adapted to fit the life of a gnome. Lawnmowers for race cars and a toilet in the yard as a throne!
The music in the film was great as well. There were some familiar tunes, including songs by Elton John.
The humor is clean and though some lines may be over the heads of little ones, it’s a good family movie for all to watch.
