Even though electronic toys with lots of sounds and functions are the popular thing these days, I still like that Sawyer can enjoy more simple toys. Some of his favorite toys do not use batteries, and they are great for quiet play since they don’t scream or whirl. One of his new favorite simple toys is the Green Toys tool set.
Since we opened the box and washed off all the pieces – recommended before and after play – he has been carrying the box around with him several times a day. He really likes the hammer, and uses it often to work on the coffee table, wall, or his daddy’s Rock Band drum set.
There are 15 pieces included in the tool set, including the box, hammer, 2 screwdrivers, a saw, and more. I especially like that the tools are labeled with their name, as that helps Sawyer learn their names, especially later when he’s able to recognize letters and words.
If you have never ordered from Green Toys, you should really check out their site. Before I received the tool set to review, I read over how the products are made. The main ingredient for most of their toys is actually recycled milk jugs! I think that’s pretty cool. Plus, the toys are completely made in America, a fact that is difficult to find with many toys nowadays. This makes their toys easier (and quicker!) to get to you, and they require less energy for shipping.
