I love getting new toys for my son to try for the first time. It’s so much fun to watch him tackle a new skill or activity. When given the chance to review the remote-control fire truck from Hearthsong, I knew it would be great for my son. He enjoys playing with cars and tries to fly his daddy’s remote control helicopter all the time.
The fire truck is made of a soft rubber with no sharp edges or points. This is great for the intended age group, 2 and up. The remote control features simple controls that consist of two buttons. The top button moves the truck forward and the bottom button allows the vehicle to turn around. Sawyer likes the shape of the remote, and twists it from side to side as if he is steering a car. So cute!
To make the truck and remote work, you need a 9-volt battery and 3 AA batteries. We didn’t get to play with the truck as soon as it arrived in the mail because we don’t keep 9-volt batteries on hand. Once we made a trip to the store, it was obvious it was worth it. Watching our son try to navigate the truck across the kitchen was awesome!
