On our recent trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, we were able to check out the Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center. The complex features three fun attractions, and I have so much to tell that I am dividing the place into two posts.
First, I want to share the main attraction: Hollywood Wax Museum. This place is very interesting…if you like to keep up with celebrities, watch a variety of movies, or just want to see some very intricate art, I recommend you check it out on your next trip to the area.
Hollywood Wax Museum
You should have no trouble finding the building…it definitely stands out from the restaurants and attractions around it! It even has its own version of Mount Rushmore! Being the the largest Hollywood Wax Museum in the US, it’s easy to understand why the building is so big.
When you first arrive, you find King Kong to the right of the ticket line, with an employee there with a camera ready to snap your photo with the monster. That makes a great souvenir to take home from the museum!
Heading into the museum, you will see a number of celebrities, spanning a wealth of movie and television genres. There are newer, popular actors and legends from the classics. There is a music section as well, featuring the likes of pop stars (think Britney Spears) and country singers (think Dolly Parton). Beside each celebrity is also a small board that tells you more information about them, including:
- Name and age
- Why they are famous (notable movies, for example)
- Pet peeves
- Background info
Here are some of my favorite stars in the two-story wax museum…
We also hung out with a few of the celebrities while we were at the Hollywood Wax Museum. James sat with Forrest Gump while he waited for a bus…
And I helped Lucy recommend Vitameatavegamin!
At the end of the self-guided museum tour, there is a gift shop. Check out the variety of movie memorabilia they have!
Which celebrities would you like to see in wax?
Part 2 of my review will feature the Castle of Chaos and Hannah’s Maze of Mirrors. Look for it in a couple days!
Disclosure: I received complementary tickets in exchange for showcasing this attraction on my blog. All opinions are 100% and are not swayed by outside sources.

I’ve never been to Tennessee. The wax museum looks like fun. I’ve always had fun at wax museums.
I agree, they are a lot of fun!
Wax museums are both cool and creepy! i love the one of you and Lucy! That is the best episode ever!
True! Sometimes, I felt that they were staring at me…especially in the horror movie section!
It’s crazy how real they look!
I know!! Some of them, it was like they were going to blink or move any second…
So fun! I used to live about an hour outside of Nashville. TN is a great place to both live and visit.
We love Nashville too! It’s only about 2 hours from us. We’ve been twice and cannot wait to go again.
Ok, those are really cool. Some of them are excellent renditions! I have GOT to go!
You totally should…some of them look so real, it’s almost scary LOL
I’ve been to a wax museum in Los Angeles and these photos brought back good memories we had in that museum
i have pix with the forest gump
I went to a wax museum in L.A. too, 10 years ago. It’s been so long!
My husband and I are going to Tenn. for Valentines Weekend. This is on my list to see. Thank you for the post.
Have fun! There are so many things to do in the area…and it’s perfect for romance!
That is so neat. It looks like that would be tons of fun to see!
It definitely was. It takes about an hour and a half to get though, but it’s all so interesting so it’s totally worth the time!
When I was a little girl, we went to a wax museum in Florida on the way home from vacation. And locked the keys in the car!
I’ve always wanted to visit a wax museum. The one of Marilyn Monroe is SO realistic!! I’d love to see Lady Gaga in wax!
Although I will probably never go to Tennessee I have been to a wax museum (the one in NYC)–they are really amazing! If you are near this Wax Museum or any of the others I would recommend that you go in and look around!
Tennessee is a state I haven’t really been to but really want to visit. Thanks for sharing a little about your trip.
I’ve always wanted to go to a wax museum. That looks like so much fun!
