Keeping Warm with the Sunbeam Heated Throw

You know those cool winter mornings when the covers currently on your bed just aren’t enough? Or have you ever went to bed with the heat turned down to save money and wake up shivering a few hours later?

I’ve experienced both of those, which is why I was happy to review the Sunbeam LoftTec Plush 50″x60″ Heated Throw. The blanket comes rolled up like a sleeping bag, in one of those plastic containers that you will never be able to get it back into – not that it would go back into it here. Everyone loves it and it gets too much use to be stored.

This is the first electric blanket I’ve owned, save the one my grandparents had when I was like 5. They may have had more after that, but I never saw them. This blanket does exactly what it’s supposed to – keeps you good and toasty! The kiddo and I like to cuddle under it after breakfast, usually while watching Thomas and Friends or Curious George.

Chocolate brown is a primary color in our master bedroom, so I thought this Walnut-colored throw would be kept in there to use along with the comforter, should we feel chilly. However, it tends to get more use in the living room. The plush feeling is so comfortable, and it’s thickness contains the heat.

My husband teased that it was like a thick fur coat…yet a couple days after we got it, I caught him snoozing beneath it!

The controller is conveniently placed so you can adjust the heat as needed. There’s also a 3-hour automatic shutoff setting, which I really like when using the heated throw at night. I don’t have to worry about waking up sweating because it turns off before that happens.

All in all, this throw from Sunbeam has been a welcomed addition to the blankets we already have. I am glad to review it during the coldest time of the year – now we can save a little on our heating bill!

I love to snuggle under a warm blanket, but I have found that my parents use this heated throw even more. They stay cold, so this works great by their favorite chairs.

  2. Brooke says:

Omg I would love to have one of these! I love that it has the auto shut off feature, too.

  3. Amber says:

I LOVE it! I need one of those! I’m always cold!

Oh this sounds like my kind of go to winter item. I’m always cold. I keep a blanket in the living room and sometimes that still isn’t enough. An everyone else is comfortable with the temp so it’s not like I can just turn up the thermostat (and at today’s heat prices who wants to).

  5. Jennifer Johansen says:

Warm blankets are a must! I get so cold in the winter!

  6. Ashley T says:

That looks so nice! I am slightly anemic so I pretty much always have an extra blanket on in the winter. Thanks for the review, we’ll have to check these out.

i wish i had one of these right now. i am sitting here with a sweater on and a throw wrappied around my legs because i am freezing. i dont want to turn the heater on and make my roomy too hot. brrrrr…

  8. Mary Bearden says:

My husband would love this! He complains I keep it too cold for him but I am having hot flashes and the heat makes it worse so he’s right, the temp in the house stays around 64. Anything higher I get sick!
