Little Looster Review

Potty training has become a big theme in our household lately. The kiddo is approaching his second birthday, so we are slowly introducing the concept. When Little Looster sent us their product to review, I was interested to see how he would do with it.

The Little Looster is a potty training aide that allows young children to feel safe when sitting on an adult toilet. It’s similar to a step stool and gives kids a place to put their feet to prevent them from dangling. The unique shape hugs the toilet perfectly so it can stay in place all the time. Parents and house guests won’t be tripping over it like you can with normal stools!

The stool is made of a durable plastic that is easy to clean. This is great for any “accidents” that may happen when a child needs to make it to the potty in a hurry. It also has raised designs across the top, making the non-slip surface even safer for kids.

When we first received the Little Looster, I hoped we would be able to bypass owning a potty chair and go straight for using the “big boy” potty. So far, no dice. Even though he can step up on the stool when it’s in place, the kiddo doesn’t care to sit down while up there.

It’s not really time to start potty training yet (I don’t want to push him and he’s not really showing the signs of being ready), but hopefully once it starts he will be more cooperative at sitting down. Plus, since it stays in place at all times, we can make mention of stepping on the Little Looster and going potty when we are in the bathroom when him – which again is part of our slow intro to potty training that we are doing right now.

We plan to continue talking about going to the potty and letting him get a feel for the stool by stepping up on it when he wants to. Hopefully that will gradually lead to him sitting down without the feeling of “falling in” (which the Little Looster removes) and being able to use the big potty!

That actually doesn’t look too obtrusive to leave it there all the time – I will be interested to hear how it goes when the time comes!
