March Post Project: Cheap is the *New* Classy

I am participating in a project with ShePromotes, where I get to spotlight two blogs on my site in March. The first one is Cheap is the *New* Classy. I wasn’t familiar with this site before, but the owner, Dawn, is all about posting deals and freebies for her readers. I love sites that help me save money, so I’m glad that I was able to find her blog!

A couple weeks ago, Dawn wrote a post about Rush Limbaugh which she titled, “No One Likes a Bully“. Now, let me preface this by saying that I am not a big fan of politics. I will be the first to admit I don’t know much about all the big wig politicians. I know enough to make an educated vote when the time comes, but I usually don’t read or listen to news reports dealing with anything political.

However, Dawn’s recent blog post shone some light on Limbaugh, and what a bully he can be. Arguing against female contraceptives is bad, but shaming a lady in the process is much worse! Women have the right to protect themselves, in my opinion – and if Rush’s opinion is different, well we will agree to disagree. But name calling does nothing to help the situation.

The post also mentions Limbaugh’s mocking of Michael J. Fox and his illness. This was also totally uncalled for. Michael is one of the best actors out there, and has been since his teens. He has Parkinson’s Disease, a chronic illness that gets worse over time. To accuse someone of forgoing their medication or simply acting because they have tremors and other symptoms is just plain mean – I am trying to think of a better way to put it, but there really isn’t. It’s flat out rude to mock someone because of something they cannot help.

I totally agree with Dawn when she says Rush Limbaugh’s moves aren’t political. This is more about bullying others – and is completely disrespectful.
