The three of us are huge smoothie fans – even Sawyer has begun eating them, so he’s able to get some nutrition from yummy fruits again. He’s picky-ness really limits his food intake, so anything that we can find that’s healthy, he gets. His favorite juice flavor is pomegranate, so I was excited for him to try McDonalds new Blueberry Pomegranate smoothie that arrived just in time for summer.
The smoothie, which is hand-prepared and freshly poured when ordered, is made from blueberries and raspberries, with a splash of pomegranate juice. The fruits and juice are blended with low-fat yogurt (which can be left out of your smoothie upon request) and ice for a cool, refreshing treat. I don’t think my son has experienced a better way to cool down during the warm summer months.
McDonalds introduced the new Blueberry Pomegranate smoothie in May as a permanent menu item that will be available all year round. Since we drink smoothies whenever the mood strikes, I love that the restaurant is giving us the option to indulge anytime we wish! It’s also nice to see some new flavors added to the menu, though I like the classics as well. McDonalds really knows how to shake up their menu from time to time.
The Blueberry Pomegranate is one of the healthier dessert choices as well. The beverage is 220-340 calories, depending on the serving size you order.
