When it comes to shopping, I like to do mine in the most affordable as well as most convenient ways possible. Because of this, I have always enjoyed making purchases at Walgreens. It’s only two miles from my house, they have awesome deals that can be paired with coupons to save even more, and they have many of the brands we purchase on a regular basis.

When I heard of the new Balance Rewards program that Walgreens is launching later this month, I must admit I was pretty excited! I signed up right away, and cannot wait to start building up my points.  Since I already like to shop at Walgreens, it will be awesome to accumulate points for future savings!

For pre-enrolling prior to the September 16 start date, I was able to get entered in a giveaway to win 1 million points! Wouldn’t that be a great way to start off using this new loyalty program?!

In order to sign up, I simply visited the Walgreens Balance Rewards website. I had to sign up for a Walgreens account, but if you already have one you can skip this step. A simple form was all it took to get my membership created. The confirmation screen tells you everything you can begin doing with your new Walgreens Rewards membership. I clicked the blue banner and immediately entered to win 1 million points.

Along with learning about Balance Rewards, I also found out you can shop straight from the Walgreens mobile app. What, I can make Walgreens purchases for things we need without leaving the couch?? I’m in! The app was very easy to download and no real set up is involved. There are tons of things you can do on the app…not just make purchases. You can painlessly refill a prescription, order photos, check weekly ads, and more.

I couldn’t wait to make my first purchase with the Walgreens app once it was downloaded. We were running low on diapers and wipes, the staples of having a child who doesn’t care too much about being potty trained, so I knew exactly what to shop for. Luckily, I was able to find both on the app, and I even added in a pack of disposable razors for myself.

Browsing the app was quick and easy – as there are categories and sub-categories that will land you right where you need to be. I was able to check reviews left by other customers, sort items by type, brand, price, etc, and review my order several times before the purchase was completed. {See my full experience and purchase in my Google+ album}

It took just over 10 minutes to browse the app and complete my purchase – I couldn’t even make it to the Walgreens store and back in that little amount of time.
