I recently found out about Mouth Man shirts on another blog. They are very cool and unique long sleeved shirts that are made for both children and adults. The unique factor regarding the shirts is the ability to change the design when you cross and uncross your arms while wearing it!
Mouth Man sent me their sock monkey shirt to review with the kiddo. As you can see in the photo, the sock monkey is printed on the chest/stomach of the shirt. The head is also printed on both sleeves. The monkey’s back is printed on the back of the shirt too!
When the person wearing the shirt crosses his/her arms, the sock monkey looks as though its mouth is wide open! Moving your elbows up and down makes it look as though the monkey is opening and closing his mouth.
The shirt is made of a very thin material that makes it great for warm weather. You can use it as a bathing suit top or cover up, since the fabric is UPF50, the highest level of sun-protection clothing made. The mesh is also good at pulling moisture from the body, making it a great layering top for cool weather too. So, you can wear this top all year round if you want!
Another cool fact about Mouth Man is that the company was founded by Ross Valory, guitarist for the popular rock band, Journey. He got the idea from some kids that were playing “Jaws” by crossing their arms and moving their elbows up and down. Valory took that idea and expanded it into a huge line of shirts, with many designs, such as sharks, skeletons, frogs, dinosaurs, lady bugs, and more.
If all of the above facts aren’t cool enough, the shirts are also made from recycled materials that were once plastic bottles. The inks used on the shirts are eco-friendly as well! Not only is the owner of this shirt looking cool, they are styling in a very Earth-friendly fashion!
