My Nutrisystem Journey – It’s on Hold for Now…

I haven’t posted about my Nutrisystem journey in the past couple weeks because I have had to stop the program for now. In my last post, I mentioned going to the doctor about some back pain I was having.

Turns out, it’s my gallbladder causing all the pain as well as the nausea! I was put on a bland diet, which allows me to eat very little. While some of the Nutrisystem foods would be okay for me to have, I want to hold off on eating any until I can fully resume the program.

After further tests (abdominal ultrasound and MRCP – basically an MRI on my abdomen), it was confirmed that I have gallstones – and that one had escaped and was lodged in my bile duct, which connects my gallbladder to my small intestine. I had a procedure done Friday called an ERCP to remove the stuck gallstone. Everything went okay with that and I hope to have my gallbladder removed this week or early next week.

Hopefully, when it’s all said and done, I will be able to return to my normal eating habits fairly quickly – which means back on Nutrisystem!

You’re lucky they caught it early. I had no symptoms until my gallbladder ruptured. And on another note, I worked at a health food store. One of my regular customer’s husband was having chest pain. The doctors preformed open-heart surgery. After the surgery the pain was the same. Yep! You guessed it. It was his gallbladder the whole time. Bad doctors!

Ouch! I hope you get better soon, I hear that gallbladder pain is not fun! A friend of mine had hers removed and she is so much better, she spent a whole week after eating anything and everything that she couldn’t enjoy before :P.

I hope you feel better soon
