I don’t have to worry about packing school lunches for the kiddo just yet, but James always takes something with him to eat at work every day. It’s the much cheaper, healthier alternative to going out for lunch. Because of this, we have several plastic containers on hand. I actually thought we had many more than we needed – until I received the Rubbermaid LunchBlox Sandwich Kit!
Rubbermaid sent us this new kit to review, so I let my hubby take over on this one. He’s the one that packs, carries, and unpacks his lunchbox each day, so I knew he’d give better insights than I would. Here’s what he had to say…
When I first checked out the LunchBlox, I noticed the small size of it. It takes up much less room in my lunchbox than our other plastic containers do. The fact that it is stackable leaves more space for my snack items, which I also take to work so I have something to munch on during breaks.
The Blue Ice pack that comes with the plastic containers make it easy for me to leave my lunch at my desk if I wish. Before, I always had to make sure my food went into the break room fridge until I was ready to eat it.
I also like that I can keep all of my sides separate from my sandwich or other main dish that I prepare for lunch. The three separate containers are just the right size for chips, veggies, or fruit – and can help me manage good portion control when prepping for work.
James’ review ended there, but I wanted to continue! One of my favorite things about the Rubbermaid LunchBlox Sandwich Kit is that it is microwave and dishwasher-safe. It’s nice to be able to quickly heat up your meal straight from the container, and even more convenient that it can be tossed in the dishwasher for cleaning. The plastic is BPA-free, which is the only kind we have in our home!
BUY IT: You can purchase the LunchBlox Sandwich Kit at Rubbermaid.com, Target, Kmart, Kroger, Safeway, Bi-Lo, Winn-Dixie, HEB, other grocery stores and select Wal-Mart stores.
