I Got a Wreck This Journal!

 - by Kecia

I wanted to blog all day yesterday, but could not due to my Internet being down since Sunday. Apparently someone cut a fiber cable, and lots of people in the area lost internet service. They were not able to restore it until last night around 10pm. My mom only lost internet for a few hours Sunday night, and she has the same internet and phone company we do! I thought that was a bit ridiculous, but hey, at least it’s back on now.

Yesterday when James got home, he made me come sit in the bedroom with the door shut. He then proceeded to create a scavenger hunt around the entire house (minus the bedroom of course). He came to get me when he was done and handed me a piece of paper. My first destination was the grill on the back deck, where I found a spool of string. At the next stops, I found candy, a lighter, and colored pencils. Then I found a Wreck This Journal hidden under a throw pillow on the couch! The book is totally awesome! The search wasn’t over, as the book had a post-it attached to it that led me to a kitchen cabinet. In there was another Wreck This Journal.

A couple weeks ago, when I mentioned wanting one of these to James, I told him I though it would be cool if we both had one and did them together, sort of like a couples thing. He quickly dismissed the idea, saying that he wasn’t creative and that he didn’t want one. I made some comment about him not wanting to do anything fun with me, and then let the idea drop. Of course, he was totally faking, since now we both have one! I started coloring in mine last night while he was holding on the line for tech support (it was our 6th call to them yesterday).

And here are all my gifts from James…I was quite confused when I gathered everything from the scavenger hunt, before finding the journal ;) The items are to be used to help destroy the book.

Yay for Early Birthday Gifts :)

 - by Kecia

I am currently enjoying the birthday present that James gave me a few days early, which was The Sims 3. We are extremely bad about waiting to the day of the birthday to give the gifts, as we always want to give them as soon as they are purchased. That’s way he received Guitar Hero World Tour about 2 weeks before his birthday back in March. I told him I wouldn’t mind getting my presents early either, so we headed to Wal-Mart yesterday. :) He says there is one more gift, but it won’t be ready until Tuesday. By the sound of “it won’t be ready,” it seems he’s getting something personally made. However, I know he recently (within the last week) purchased something on Amazon, so maybe it’s Wreck This Journal! Caity has been doing such a good job on hers, that I’m really wanted to get one for myself. I guess I’ll find out in a couple days. :D

Back to the game, though, I am becoming quickly addicted. I can’t wait to get expansion packs with it, but it does come with a lot more things to do when The Sims 2 did. You can now go into town and visit other Sims. I wasn’t quite proficient in Sims 2 yet, as I had just started playing it about a month before 3 came out, so I feel like it’s going to take some getting used to. I played it for about 4 hours last night after I finished my work and household chores, and I really like it.

3 Weeks and Counting!

 - by Kecia

My 25th birthday is exactly 3 weeks away from today. I had hoped to have a lot more accomplished in life before I turned a quarter of a century old. A Bachelor’s in Education, a good teaching job, marriage, and at least one child. I’ve only accomplished one of those things so far…kinda bums me out to know I’ve wasted some of my time since graduating high school. All I can do is count the past as a learning experience, and move on.

I have no clue what we’re going to do to celebrate my birthday. James and I are going to see Nickelback, Hinder, Saving Abel, and Papa Roach in concert in July, so I told him that could be my birthday present. I have been wanting to see Nickelback live for years, so I am so excited! I’m sure we’ll grab dinner out somewhere on my birthday, and maybe a movie. James loves planning birthdays, so I am sure he will come up with something.
