Thought I’d go ahead and blog before James gets home. I’d really like to be sleeping right now. I tried to stay up late and then get up every hour to answer some of the questions on NameCheap’s Twitter contest, but I ended up just going to bed. I’ve seen myself on the leaderboard a couple of times today, but I am too far behind I believe. I can still be the random person to win the mini-laptop! The only reason I am so into this is just last week I told James I wanted one of these…now maybe I can get it for free!

So, I decided that the day care job was not going to work for me, so I called in today. I feel very bad, since I didn’t last a week…and I tried for over 2 months to get that job! I just cannot handle so many 3 year olds at one time, especially by myself. If there were another teacher in there, it would be a different story. But yeah, I still feel like I wimped out. James and I discussed it, and I am going to take the Paraprofessional test during the summer, and try to become one of those in August. I can do that with a 2 year degree as well. I do eventually want to go back to school because I do want my own classroom, but for now, I am going to graduate in May and then focus on having a child (if I’m not already there by then!).

There is some good news to this…I found a writing job this morning that will be long term, and are seeking to have lots of writing done. In 4 hours (same amount of time I was working each day at the day care), I will be making over 3 times the amount I was. I figure I’ll get up in the mornings and work two hours, then two more when I come in from school. This position seems MUCH more flexible, and it allows me to stay at home…another thing I greatly missed. I know I have to leave my home sometime if I want to work with children, but for now, I am content with this.

James is home now, and we are going walking tonight. This is my third time exercising since Sunday. I feel better, other than the lack of sleep, and have lost 5 lbs! Mostly water weight I am sure, but it counts!

Today was a MUCH better day than yesterday. I was off from work at the day care, but as I said yesterday, I was supposed to go observe a 2nd grade classroom. Well, that didn’t happen. My sleep has been thrown completely off from the time change, and I played catch up last night. We didn’t get up until almost 10am this morning…I say we because James decided to take the day off to spend time with me since I stayed home all day.

The day was pretty once again…another 80 degree day. I am scared to get used to the beautiful weather for fear that it will be 40 degrees again before we know it! We played outside this afternoon, running Puppy to death. He really likes us going outside to play with him though, no matter how much he pants James and I also went to check out the recreation dept’s free gym. It’s just a small room with about 9 machines…nothing spectacular. I can’t complain since I don’t have to pay a membership, but it wasn’t fun to stand around in a scorching room cause there were more people in there than there were machines. I think tomorrow we are going to enjoy the weather again by taking a walk with Charmin.

Today was the first day of the NameCheap trivia contest they are holding on Twitter. If you follow me, you’ve probably seen all my strange @replies…I am really trying to win a Dell mini-laptop! If not, a few free domains would be nice too, as I have a couple expiring soon. I am 12 for 12 on the questions asked so far. They ask a question every hour on the hour, but I unfortunately have to sleep sometime. The 2 highest scorers plus 1 random person will win a mini-laptop when the contest is over on the 24th.
