School’s Out for Winter!
- by Kecia
Yesterday, I finished up Block I of the Education program…I just have 3 more to go! I finished off the semester quite well. I’ve gotten 2 A’s and an S (Satisfactory) so far, and I’m waiting for the other 3 grades to be posted. I’m sure one of them is an A, but the other two are borderline between an A and a B, and will be determined on how well I did on the finals for those courses. Crossing my fingers for all A’s! This will be the first semester of all A’s in my college career if my grades turn out the way I want them to.
I’ve received lots of Christmas cards already this year. I think it helps that I was part of 3 card swaps, and I have family that send them as well. I’ve received cards from Nichole, Allyson, Jenn, Jennfur, Alicia, and Rebekah, and one from my aunt. Thanks ladies, all of your cards were lovely, and they look great hanging on my Christmas card wreath!
My current Internet addiction is Last.fm. I’m finding so many new artists on there…I love how I can find new artists that sound similar to the artists I already listen to and love. I’m currently listening to Pop Evil on there…pretty good band! I am listening to it while playing the newest Facebook app I’ve picked up…PetVille!
Feeling Stressed…
- by Kecia
Today was SUCH a stressful day at school. No major assignments were due, which is actually somewhat unfortunate, because each due date I reach means one less thing I have to finish. However, we’re working on writing lesson plans, and they are so frustrating. My college’s education program requires SO many components, that one lesson plan takes up about 6 pages, single spaced! I started my second plan today, so I know I have a lot way to go before they will be perfect, but I can’t help feeling like my professor already expects perfection.
The worst part about that class is that it’s one my long day…as I usually end up staying at school for about 12 hours. Having 4 classes then going to the library to meet with classmates for studying or to work on group presentations just wears me out. Being exhausted makes it even easier to get stressed. Luckily Thanksgiving break is only a couple weeks away…and I get a week to enjoy some time to myself!
In better news, I logged into Ecstasy this afternoon to find out that my staff application had been accepted. I am now a moderator there! This is exciting because I am really loving the active community there. I know I talk about this MB way too much, but it’s so fun and addicting, especially with the stamp collections!
I’m Now a Vampyre!

Yesterday, James and I went to see “Where the Wild Things Are.” It’s a lot different from the book, which is to be expected since the book is short and would need a much developed story line in order for it to be a decent movie. I do like the way they expanded the plot, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a good child related movie. However, it’s not really a children’s movie. The story is a bit complicated, and small kids may not be able to understand it at all.
Today was my cousin Jake’s 6th birthday. His parents had his party today, and it was a lot of fun. He got a bicycle from my aunt and uncle, which he absolutely loved. James and I got him an outfit and a ColorExplosion play set (those really cool markers that only draw on the special paper, so no marks on the furniture or walls!). His mom made 3 cakes for his party…she claims she started baking and just could not stop. Jake’s baby sister, Sally, is due next month, and I cannot wait!
Other than that, my weekend was consumed with schoolwork and Ecstasy. I am really becoming addicted to this message board. They are doing a Halloween themed contest which is an ongoing battle between Vampyres and Lycans (Werewolves). It had already started when I joined, but I was able to get in on it. I was turned by Nichole, and became a Vampyre. There are challenges every so often to participate in and earn points for your team, as well as individual points. When it’s all over, there will be prizes awarded to the winning team and individuals. Oh, and I had to change my username to earn points for the challenge, so if you put in your registration form that I referred you, please use the username “LadyNight.”
I’ve also added my stamp collection to my blog (which in turn earned me more stamps!), so feel free to look!
