TGIF!
- by Kecia
I am so glad it’s the weekend, even though we have quite a bit of things to do. Today was quite a busy day. My sister and I left my house around 9am and went to do some shopping. We hit up a local clothing store that only open four times a year. They sell handbags and wallets dirt cheap. We each got an animal print bag for $10, with a matching wallet for $6. Not bad since purses I like usually cost $20 or more! I’m not a fan of the animal print bags, but mine has more colored triangles on it and very little animal print. Here’s what it looks like:

We also had lunch with my mom and James, and then I went to my doctor’s appointment. I have been having random muscle cramps in various places on my body the couple months. It’s more than the norm, and I’m just getting tired of having them. James thought it may be a nutrient deficiency, but I had lots of things tested at my yearly physical at the first of July, and everything turned out normal. Today, they took more blood to check B12, folic acid, and muscle enzymes. My doctor said if all these levels are good, then it’s probably just something I will have to deal with, but continuing to eat right and exercise should help them dramatically.
Tomorrow, we plan to go see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. We’re going to go to the matinee, as it’s almost $2 cheaper per ticket during the day at our local theater. Tomorrow night, we are having a James’ friend and his wife over for pizza and a movie. Not sure what we are seeing at this point, but I’m sure it will be something good.
Sunday is my little cousin’s birthday party. She turned 8 on Thursday, and it’s really sad for me to think about how fast she growing up! When I lived with my aunt and uncle the two years I went away for college, she was barely 1 year old, and was always at their house. I feel like even though she’s always lived an hour away from my hometown, I really got to see her grow up since I was lived there for 2 years. Even after I moved out, we’ve seen her every couple months or sooner. Kids just grow too fast!
What are your plans for the weekend?
I am Graduating!
- by Kecia
Today it became a little more real that I will be graduating in just a few months. I had to order my cap and gown for the graduation ceremony. I didn’t bother with the announcements or a ring, as it’s just an Associate’s degree…Maybe when I finish my Bachelor’s, I’ll be a bit more excited. It’s not that I am not proud of myself, I just wish it hadn’t taken me 6 years to get a 2 year degree. But, oh well, it will get me the type of job I want, so by May, I’ll be equipped to do what I love…teach preschoolers.
I had another doctor’s appointment today. This one was just to take another pregnancy test, and if it was negative, to discuss our options regarding a future pregnancy. James and I are sticking to the idea that we want to try again as soon as we can, so there wasn’t much to discussing that. The problem today was that I’m still testing positive for pregnancy. The nurse said it was “very faintly positive” but that didn’t appease my doctor. I have to go back again at the first of March for another pregnancy test…and until then, no sexual intercourse. It’s almost been 4 weeks since we’ve done anything. Poor James is dying…not to mention I could use some loving to!
But we are going to do as the doctor wishes, and refrain.
I stayed up super late last night, getting all of photos uploaded to Flickr. The important ones I wanted up were of the Georgia Aquarium which we took on Valentine’s Day. Since I had some issues with upgrading to a Flickr Pro account, I was just able to get them all up. I will leave you with a few, and you can click any of the photos to view the rest of the set!
