Today, James, my mom, my sister, and I took a drive across the mountain into the next town over, which is famous for their apple houses. We hit up two of the stores, and James and I came home with Granny Smith apples, apple cider, applesauce bread, apple salsa, and sweet potato butter. We also got some boiled peanuts to eat while we were there. On the way back, we took a dirt road that really winds through the mountain, which allowed us several opportunities for photos. We stopped by a waterfall for lunch, and took several photos. There’s more on my Flickr!

When we got home from our Sunday drive, I backed up the important documents, photos, and music on my computer. James then upgraded my computer to Windows 7 for me while I took a nap (I’m coming down with the sniffles , so the nap was needed!). It’s not a huge change, but I really like the new look and features. So far, it’s running nicely!

Since I haven’t posted any photos on my blog in a while, and I really want to update my blog right now (also known as, procrastinating from doing my homework ), I’d thought I’d share some recent shots with you on this fine Saturday. I hope to share photos every weekend, and I’m going to call this “Saturday Shots.” Hopefully, it will be photos from the week before, but I may share some random ones if I don’t have any good ones from that week.

Now, onto the photos:

The first two photos were taken the day we moved my sister into her college dorm room on August 18th. She’s attending Berry College, which has the most beautiful campus in the state of Georgia (and possibly in the country). They have a section away from the campus that they refer to as “Mountain Campus” which has a beautiful chapel (that I should have taken photos of), a small lake, dorms, and an elementary school.

Today was the most beautiful day we’ve had this year. It was about 10 degrees warmer today than yesterday, which made it almost 80° F. James and I slept later than we wanted because of the time change, so we didn’t get up until almost noon. We lounged around here for about an hour before getting everything ready for our trip to the state park up on the mountain. My mom and sister decided to go with us, and we took Charmin as well.

Once we got up there, we had a picnic lunch, then walked the trail that leads to an overlook of the entire city. With the help of my sister, I was able to find my papa’s house. That was pretty cool. We also went over to another area of the park and walked the trail around the lake. Charmin did really well on the trails, even when tempted by other dogs and people. He was on a leash the entire time (state park rule), but didn’t drag James around or anything!
