Name the most important things you think a couple should do before getting married.

1. Meet each other’s families. This is important so that you can get to know everyone. I don’t think it’s a requirement each other’s family like both of you, but at least put forth the effort to meet them.

2. Live together. I know this is a big no-no for some people, but you never really know how well a marriage will work out until you have lived with each other. Even if you have been together for 10 prior to getting married, it can be completely different when you are around them 24/7.

3. Date for a while. I’m not saying there is a set period of time the two should date, but it does help to know each other well before making such a big commitment. So many couples nowadays are running to the alter after just 1-2 months of being together. While I do know that these marriages can last, it is very rare that they do.

4. Discuss the future. Think about what each of you want in life, and make sure your visions for the future are somewhat compatible. Finances, children, careers, and living situations should all be talked about so that the couple are on the same page.

Umm, I can’t think of anything else. What would you add to this list??

A Day Of Music:

If you had one day totally free, just to enjoy music, what would you listen to?

I would put my iTunes on shuffle and just let it play. I have a lot of music on my computer (over 500 songs), and half them I haven’t heard in a long time. Would be nice just to see exactly what all I have. I’d definitely include the Nelly and Nickelback that I have on here.

How would the music change as the day went on?

If I didn’t have it on shuffle, I’d start out listening to my favorite songs. After those got boring, I’d probably choose those that I haven’t heard in a while. Toward the end of the day, I’d probably want to buy more tracks that I have been meaning to download but haven’t yet.

FYI: Excuse the meme, but I came *thisclose* to forgetting to blog today. All I really want to do is cuddle up with my hubby and sleep, but I can’t break my blogging streak!

Its a beautiful hot summer day. You’ve been invited to a picnic and you’ve be told you are in charge of the music. Tell us what your playlist would be!

Hmm…it would be some upbeat, summery type music for sure. Definitely a mixture of southern rock, country, and maybe a little pop thrown in. What can I say, I like variety! The first song I can think of would be “All Summer Long” by Kid Rock. This song is just so fitting for the season. *Pauses blog to turn on the song* Okay, now that I’m feeling warm and summery, what else would I include? Some country hits like “Our Song” by Taylor Swift, “Summer Nights” by Rascal Flatts, and “When the Sun Goes Down” by Kenny Chesney and Uncle Kracker. For classic, southern rock, I’d throw in some Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Eagles, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, and ACDC. No particular songs, just something with a good beat that can remind the adults at the party of their younger days. Some more current tracks on the list would be “California Girls” by Katy Perry, “Rock That Body” by Black Eyed Peas, “Airplanes” by B.O.B. and Hayley Williams (*still* my current addiction!), and “Ridin’ Solo” by Jason DeRulo.

Short playlist, I know, but that would be my most prominent preferences in music when played out by the pool. As you can tell, I love a wide variety of music…as long as there are lyrics to sing along with (Not much of a classical/elevator music fan!) I just realized it would have been better arranged in a bulleted list, but I’m too lazy to change it now!

What are some of your favorite summer hits?

What is absolutely the best cookie you’ve ever had? Oreos! Okay, maybe not the absolute best, but at the moment, I’m a pregnant girl blinded by her cravings. All I can see are OREOS!

What is a cookie you really don’t care for? Peanut Butter

What are some other cookies you are rather fond of? Soft, gooey, fresh from the oven chocolate chip cookies and sugar cookies.

Grocery-store cookies are, of course, never as good as anything that comes out of someone’s kitchen, but what’s a packaged cookie that’s still pretty good? Grandma Fields’ chocolate chip cookies…oh, and those oatmeal cookies with the frosting on them.

In general, do you think cookies should be chewy and gooey, or should they be crispy and crunchy? Definitely chewy and gooey!

PS – 21 weeks today!!
