One Busy Week…

 - by Kecia

Whew, this week has been a busy one…and it’s not over yet! Monday, I wasn’t feeling good, so I didn’t go to my field placement. I was nauseous most of the day, and I didn’t want to spread anything I may be getting to my Kindergarteners. Because of this, I have to make up the missed day tomorrow. It’s okay though, as I had already planned on attending the Halloween party tomorrow…now I’ll just stay all day. On even better news, my school week is finally over after today. We had 2 exams today, as well as having part 2 of a huge 3 part assignment was due. In a nutshell, today was stressful. I feel that I did good on both of my exams though, which is always a plus.

Also, tomorrow after I get out of my placement, I am meeting up with my friend April so that we can purchase our New Moon tickets!! We are going to the midnight premiere on the night of November 19th/morning of the 20th, and we want to make sure it doesn’t sell out, at least not before we get our tickets. I’ve never been to a midnight showing of a movie, nor have I been to a premiere. I am sure it will be interesting.

This may very well be my last post of October, as NaBloPoMo starts Sunday (Novemeber 1)!

I’m Now a Vampyre!

Yesterday, James and I went to see “Where the Wild Things Are.” It’s a lot different from the book, which is to be expected since the book is short and would need a much developed story line in order for it to be a decent movie. I do like the way they expanded the plot, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a good child related movie. However, it’s not really a children’s movie. The story is a bit complicated, and small kids may not be able to understand it at all.

Today was my cousin Jake’s 6th birthday. His parents had his party today, and it was a lot of fun. He got a bicycle from my aunt and uncle, which he absolutely loved. James and I got him an outfit and a ColorExplosion play set (those really cool markers that only draw on the special paper, so no marks on the furniture or walls!). His mom made 3 cakes for his party…she claims she started baking and just could not stop. Jake’s baby sister, Sally, is due next month, and I cannot wait!

Other than that, my weekend was consumed with schoolwork and Ecstasy. I am really becoming addicted to this message board. They are doing a Halloween themed contest which is an ongoing battle between Vampyres and Lycans (Werewolves). It had already started when I joined, but I was able to get in on it. I was turned by Nichole, and became a Vampyre. There are challenges every so often to participate in and earn points for your team, as well as individual points. When it’s all over, there will be prizes awarded to the winning team and individuals. Oh, and I had to change my username to earn points for the challenge, so if you put in your registration form that I referred you, please use the username “LadyNight.”

I’ve also added my stamp collection to my blog (which in turn earned me more stamps!), so feel free to look!

Movies Galore

 - by Kecia

This has been the week for movies! Since Saturday, I’ve watched 4 new movies, basically one each day. I already mentioned we went to see The Proposal Saturday night. Sunday night, James and I watched Role Models, which we rented from Netflix. Yesterday, a friend and I went to see Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. Then I went over to another friend’s house afterward (which was technically early this morning since I was out so late), and we watched The House Bunny. All were very good, funny movies, and I recommended them to everyone looking for some good comedies to watch. Of the four, my favorite was The Proposal.

I also updated my 101 in 1001 list today. It hasn’t really been touched since April, and I didn’t realize how many things I have completed since then. I updated my movie and books listed. I’ve now finished 9/101 things, which isn’t much, but I still have until 2011!

PS – 4 days until the beach!!! :) :) :)
