Another Great Day in Kindergarten
- by Kecia
The baby shower was a success yesterday. First, I must say there was SO much yummy food. Pinwheels, finger sandwiches, sausage dip, and bacon and cheddar Triscuits, just to name a few of the things served. *drools* My mom put me in charge of the games, and that was fun. We played Baby Bingo, answered Nursery Rhyme riddles, and guessed how many Skittles (Jake’s favorite candy) were in the baby bottle.
Today was spent with my Kindergarteners! The teacher let me teach a segment of the Language Arts lessons for the day, which included me reading a book to the students and asking them questions before, during, and after. I also completed my interviews for one of my critical assignments (an assignment so important if you fail it, you fail the entire class). I was to ask the teacher and 3 students about the technology that was used in their classroom. For the teacher, it was no big deal. Asking 3 five year old’s, however, that was another story. I had to explain to them what “technology” is, but I managed to get some pretty good answers from them. I have to type up the answers and then analyze them to present what and how technology is being used in the class.
November = NaBloPoMo

Well, this is it! Today marks the first day of NaBloPoMo. I’m excited to get started, and determined to blog every day for the next 30 days! I really need to sit down and come up with some good topics for days when I don’t have much to say. I’ve decided that if I can follow through with this, I will reward myself…perhaps with a new domain name, as I have yet to purchase the .nu I have my eye on!
I had a good time celebrating Halloween last night. I originally wanted to go out after giving out candy, but I didn’t have a costume so I decided against it. We had about 7 trick or treaters, and now have tons of candy left. My friend, April, brought her kids and niece by, and we walked through our neighborhood with them. Where I live, not many people hand out candy. We had to walk down 4 streets, and the kids ended up going to 9 houses. They got a nice stash of candy, so they weren’t complaining. After they left, James and I settled in to watch the Ghost Hunters marathon. It made for a good night, cuddling on the couch and getting scared at every noise (it was me that was jumpy, not James).
Today consists of schoolwork and a baby shower. My cousin’s wife is due November 19 with her fourth child (though she only has custody of 1, well 2 counting the bun in the oven). Jake, the older brother, is getting excited. I got Sally (they let Jake name her…where he came up with Sally, no one knows) some cute outfits and socks from Old Navy. Some of them are for next summer, but she’ll need clothes then too, right?
