My husband is very into action films, especially those that involve superheroes. I have to admit, in the time we have been together, his love for these movies has transferred to me as well. With all of the buzz swarming around Marvel‘s The Avengers, I knew it was a movie the two of us had to add to our collection. I just wish my son was old enough to enjoy it too – but by owning the movie, we will be able to show him when he’s older!

With the special The Avengers Movie Combo Pack available at Walmart on September 25, I knew we’d be making a movie purchase this week. We missed seeing the film in theaters, so the excitement had been building for several months!

Before we left, I couldn’t help but take a peek of the combo pack on Walmart.com. After checking it out, James and I were excited to get our hands on the movie as well as the cool graphic novel. Off to Walmart we went!

I had also learned about a special Avengers Augmented Reality App available for my iPhone (as well as Android phones), so I was sure to download it before we began our shopping trip. I immediately wanted to take the quiz when I opened the app. To take the quiz, you must locate trigger points throughout the store.

These will unlock questions that you can answer to determine which Avengers hero you are. Each trigger point unlocks three questions, and once you’ve unlocked nine questions, you will have your answer. This handy map will help you find the trigger points, which are usually located on displays on or around Avengers merchandise.

James and I were able to find 4 trigger points as we were shopping: one in the Halloween section, one over in the grocery side, and two in electronics. I scoured toys and apparel as well, but came up empty. The points are special signage featuring one Avenger, or the whole lot of them.

After the third point was found and I had answered all nine questions, the app wanted to take my photo. It then showed my face on the body of Thor – apparently that’s the Avenger I am!

Finding the Avengers Combo Pack at Walmart was very easy – there was a big movie display in the aisle in front of the electronics section. It was actually right beside another Avengers display where I found two of my trigger points. I was happy to put one of the packs in our cart so we could make our purchase!

With the movie in our possession, we moved to the grocery section to pick up a few food items. We wanted something quick and easy to make for our Avengers movie night. These #MarvelAvengersWMT pizzas, which had the characters printed right there on their boxes, seemed to be the perfect answer for dinner. I opted for the Captain America pepperoni variety, because those are both favorites of mine!

Once home with our goodies, we popped the pizza in the oven and took a look at the graphic novel while it was cooking. It’s been years since I’ve read comics, and I cannot wait to have the chance to read this one in its entirety. I got a few pages into it when my husband snatched it from me. It’s okay – he will be at work tomorrow and I’ll be home with the book! :)

Just as I got the movie into the DVD player, the kitchen timer buzzed, signaling that our food was ready. After slicing the pizza and preparing salads, we were finally ready to sit down for our dinner and a movie!

The Avengers was exactly what I thought it would be – a very awesome movie! I haven’t seen all of the latest movies based on the Marvel Comic’s characters, but this film has me wanting to go on a rental spree. If you haven’t seen it yet, I suggest you check out the Exclusive Blu-Ray/DVD/Novel Combo Pack at Walmart. If you can, go on September 29, when select Walmart stores will have special Avengers Character Appearances!!

You definitely need to rent all the other movies – Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America – and THEN watch The Avengers again. We never get tired of watching all of them.

Wow. I was *THIS CLOSE* to purchasing The Avengers at Target. They had the 3D Blu-ray + 2D Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy + Music Soundtrack + A bonus disc AND an exlcusive slipcover for only $19.99! I’m not that big of a fan of these kinds of films, though, so I didn’t end up purchasing the combo pack. It was a great deal, though, wouldn’t you say? Is there a reason why you purchased this at Walmart, or did it not really matter where you bought it?
