All About Me

Hey! My name is Kecia, and I was born 25 years ago on June 11 to a single mother. My mom is the greatest, and I owe everything I am to her. My mother married my step-father, Dewayne, when I was 8. I have a 19 year old sister named Krista, and a 15 year old brother named Zach. I will never call them “half” because they are my “full” siblings…Trust me I’ve had to put up with them long enough, I can call them what I wish! I am married to and in love with a wonderful man named James. We have no kids (yet), but we have an adorable golden retriever puppy named Charmin.

Education

I graduated high school in 2002 with a GPA of 89.7…3/10 of a point from being a honor graduate! It was assumed that I would go to college, and my life long dream is to become a teacher. In the fall of 2002, I moved in with my aunt and uncle, 50 miles away from my hometown, to go to one of the most prestigious colleges in Georgia. I ended up withdrawing in 2004, due to the fact that I was highly burnt out on school, since I had been in attendance for the past 15 years. I moved back home, took a semester off, and enrolled in the local college. I have been an on and off student since then, and have yet to obtain my Bachelor’s degree. I turned back into a full time student when I entered the teaching program in August 2009.

Work

I have been a freelancer writer since March 2008. It doesn’t pay as well as I would like just yet, but I am slowly building my portfolio and passive income from a few article writing companies. Plus, I am able to work from home, and around school. I blog about my online journey on another blog, Life of a Freelance Writer.
