Halloween is such a fun time of the year. We don’t really get into the scarier aspects, but we do have fun dressing Sawyer up and taking him Trick or Treating. This year, we received an Elmo costume to review from Wholesale Halloween Costumes.com, which is what he will be wearing for Halloween this year!

He is so into the “I hate having my photo taken!” stage…

Being an Elmo fanatic, there was really no other choice when thinking about a costume for the kiddo. When the package arrived in the mail, he was immediately excited to try the outfit on! I cannot believe how remarkably soft the red, monster material is – it’s like rubbing a soft blanket!

The Elmo costume features two pieces, a full body suit and a headpiece featuring Elmo’s eyes and nose. The body suit is open in the back and secured with 3-4 pieces of Velcro. It’s easy to get him in and out of the suit.

Sawyer loved wearing the red suit when he tried it on, but he wasn’t as happy as about the headpiece. I explained to him that to really be Elmo, he needed to have the “hat” on too, so he gave in and let me put it on him. The headpiece fits over the top of the head and secures with Velcro just under the chin.

Once he was in full Elmo gear, Sawyer wanted to wear it until his father got home. Seriously, he wanted to read and play as Elmo. “Elmo read!” and “Elmo run!” is what he kept saying as I was trying to get him to sit still for photos. ;)  The bodysuit sheds a little bit of red fur on the carpet, however, so I finally got it off and then put it back on later for Daddy. James loved the costume too, and Sawyer was happy that he could be Elmo once again.

“Elmo Read!”

I chose the Toddler 3-4 size for Sawyer, as he’s currently in 2T. Looking at their sizing chart (I LOVE when websites include this for kids clothes – makes buying much easier!), I decided to go up a size so that it wouldn’t be tight or uncomfortable. The costume fits him great and I am sure he won’t have a problem wearing it most of the evening when Halloween gets here.

Child costumes are only worn once, so most parents don’t want to splurge a lot of money on one. However, with Wholesale Halloween Costumes.com, you can find cute character and other costumes at the wholesale price, making them more affordable! It’s really not bad, especially when they can continue to play in the outfit after Halloween is over. I have no doubt that my son will want to pretend he’s Elmo well into the holiday season! :)

Disclosure: I received a free product in exchange for my honest, unbiased review. All opinions are 100% mine.
